Aggravated Assault With A Deadly Weapon And Battery Charges Dismissed!

2009CF011242NC

The Defendant was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery charges when an unwelcomed family member showed up at his home and began an argument with him. The alleged victim stated the Defendant battered her by pushing her against the wall and out the front door. She then stated the Defendant came after her and threatened her with a machete in front of several witnesses. The Defendant was arrested and taken to jail where he was being held with a zero bond. On the same day of the arrest (Saturday) the family of the Defendant contacted AnneMarie Rizzo who quickly went to the jail and argued the Defendant’s right to a bond. The Judge agreed with AnneMarie and set a bond for the Defendant. Within 45 days AnneMarie was able to gather enough evidence to convince the Prosecutor that there would be insufficient evidence to proceed with these charges and all the assault and battery charges were dismissed!
